Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament Jason David BeDuhn

When translating from those languages into English, different styles of translation can be used. There are very good reasons for retaining the use of the Authorized [King James] Version of the Bible instead of the modern English versions. I showed For Calvinists, Calvin resides above the God of truth, and even 'corrects' God in his own Word. Yesterday I introduced this translation to readers here. The Truth New Testament This is a follow-up to my post yesterday The Truth New Testament by Colin Urquhart. The English translator and early protestant John Wycliff literally gave his life to translate the Latin Vulgate (also a translation) into English so the common man could read the Bible for himself. The truth is, we have far better and earlier manuscripts of both the Hebrews and the Greek texts of the Bible today than they did back then, and so can produce a translation much closer to the original wording than they could In my view those who know something about the history of the English translation of the Bible (for instance knowing how much of the KJV was cribbed from William Tyndale's translation), know that English translations are a work in progress. A great book called “Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament”, by Jason BeDuhn would be very helpful to you. The edition I have in my hand a borrowed copy of the study edition, which has quite a lot of short notes, although taking up at most a quarter of each page, and over 200 pages of study material at the end including a few translated Old Testament passages. But since nothing was brought forward in his favor, he was hanged on the eve of the Passover (Sanhedrin 43A, Babylonian Talmud from Tannaaitic period 70-200 Ad. He is theo author of the book "Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament." In this book, while critical of some points of translation, he says that overall the NWT is very accurate. It was translated by fifty-four men, every one of them a great scholar, and published in 1611. Don't get I think the main point of the article is to show that large groups of scholars embarked on attempts to bring accurate English translations to English-speaking people. Today I am reviewing the book and its text. In my past three posts (Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3), I looked closely at a new translation of the Bible called “The Passion Translation,” produced by NAR apostle Brian Simmons. Many good books have been written on the accuracy of the Bible, and for that reason, I will move on now and spend some time talking about the witness of Jesus outside of the New Testament, because that witness also is abundant. The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew and Aramaic. I found this interesting Idioms, definitions, and usage of common terms change by the hour, it seems, and it is very difficult for a team of scholars to create a translation that can accurately reflect the original meaning to succeeding generations of readers.
